This guide also helps you change the location of ads say at the top, bottom of a post or at a particular location inside a specific post. By placing ads at relevant places helps you get more ad clicks from users. The chances are greater in this case and hence you have better control on them. Follow the below steps to implement this.
Step - 1
Login to your Adsense account and click 'My ads' menu provided at the top of the page. Then go for 'Ad units' in the left menu as shown in the below picture. Click 'New ad unit' button to create a custom ad.
Step - 2
In the new ad unit, you need to enter a name for this say Ad1, Adsense,
advertisement etc. Specify ad size; the recommended being 336X280, 300X250 or any horizontal banners (say mobile banner 300X50). Also select Text and display ads.
Step - 3
After doing this scroll down to find the tab 'Save and get code'. Click this, which will display a pop up menu as shown below. The code type should be Asynchronous. Copy the Ad code that is displayed there and preferably save this for future use in a text editor like notepad.
Step - 4
OK, after doing the above steps. Login to your blogger account and open any post in which you wish to implement the ad customization. Click the 'HTML' button provided at the left side of the post page as shown below. clicking this will display the HTML code for that post.
Step - 5
Now, if you wish to include ad at the end of the post, all you need to do is scroll down to the bottom of the html page and paste the copied code in the last line as shown below (after </div>). Click publish or save post and view your blog only to see ad at the end of the page !. If the ad is created recently, it may take time to display the ad, usually 10 minutes or some hours. You will only see a blank space till then.
If you intend to place the ad below the title of your post (top of your post), then you need to scroll to the top of the HTML page and paste the code in the first line (above <div ). You may paste there the same code that you used before. The only thing is you will see the same ad size. The additional advantage with this method is - you can even place the same code in your other blogs !. Only if you wish to add different ad size, then you have to create another ad unit (just like we did in first step).
Say; you want to display an ad above a specific paragraph in your post, you simply search for that lines in the html page and paste the ad code above the lines starting with
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For example, by placing the ad code in the highlighted area as shown in the below picture will enable me display ads above the line "The beautiful thing in affiliate marketing is .......".
Controlling the location of ad placement (in individual posts) in this way may help you achieve more click impressions and thus earn more. This is a better way of monetizing your blog.
Hope this helps.
